After the good things for the inner man had been generously dealt with, an hour or two were spent in the hap- piest social manner with toast and speech and song. The usual loyal toasts and senti- ments were given and replied to, and the speeches fairly sparkled with wit and humor and nicely seasoned with Attic salt. The speakers expressed the pleasure they felt in Mr. Morgan s return to his duties with re- stored health and recuperated powers. Mr. Morgan thanked the Council for their kind expressions and for their generous treatment in giving him the holiday, through which his restoration is due.
