Leigh. rr ununna \In1rv1-In D Q T The um Road School. The usual Christmas examination of the pupils attending this school were held on Monday, Dec. 22nd, and were conducted by Rev. D. D. McLeod and Miss Findlay, teacher of the school. The proceedings were most interesting, and the answering of the pupils reected much credit on their clever and pains-taking teacher. Bi-ivf ad- dresses were made by Revs. D D, McLeod, Allan Findlay. \V. Miler Magrath, and Messrs. Edmonds, Goodfellow and Bishop, trustees of the school. Miss Findlay was presented with a very handsome jewel case, and an appropriate address was read by Master John Bishop, expressing the warm esteem and respect ot the pupils for their teacher. The trustees have also given tangible expression to their appreciation of Miss Findlay s successful labors by granting an increase of $50 to her salary.
