T. Bmwrme, Clerk. new the Little `rs-lek Was Worked. Reeve Bill Bennett, of Midland, and De- puty Reeve Bill Ramsay, of Orillia, got one ahead of the hayseeds from Barrie and vicinity in the County Council last week, in getting the_June session for Orillia. This is how they worked it : A motion was made a couple of days before the aggregation ad- 'ourned that the Council meetin Barrie in June. This motion was made then for the purpose of allowing it to go into the minutes, which were to be read -aturday. - Mr. Ben- nett moved in amendment that the Council take no action in the matter till Saturday. The amendment was voted down by Barrie people. When Saturday came, William of Midland saw the Warden and asked him to read the original motion from the minutes as lost. This Warden Switzer consented to, and the Orillia people sized up the gathering and saw only Charles Drury as likely to kick atrenuonsly against Orillia. It was agreed that Deput -Reeve Ramsay should take him out and T k horse with him and than keep L3-- ----. II- .l:A .. ..-ul 6|: Wan-Ran ran!` .0115 B110, INK uoruu vuuu uuu uuu lruuu nvvy him away. He did so, and the Warden read an agreed. The Barrie man jumped up and said the Warden had made a mistake, but the man from Midland quieted him by tell- ing him that he could mekehis motion again and have it entered correctly. He did so, and fa vored as they deserved to be, the Oril- lia sympathize:-e had the satisfaction of see- ing the motion luet by one. That is how Orillta had to ght to have the J une meeting of the`Oounoil take place here. To eay that Drury` and the Barrie fellow: were med would expreae it mildly.
