Mr. Hanna pointed out that the time which the Presbyterians would give the United Church for` the use of the church at"l`orrance has not yet-been denitely settled, and he = moved that the committee appointed ` some time ago in this connection act in the matter. Ministers Seeking Admission Applications to the General Assem- bly for permission to receive men1 from other communions as ordained ministers of the Presbyterian Church- ` in Canada gave rise to some discus-_ sion. There were seven such` appli- cations, mostly from Western Pres- byteries. Mr. Hanna thought that overtures should be made to the Gen- eral Assembly that men entering` the ` ministry should be required to, take the obligations of the `Church. Mr. Hanna stated that, in his own exper- ience in the West, ministers had been acce ted without question andmany of t em had later supported Union. The rally will be held in Barrie. Arrangements had already `been made for the use of St. Vincent's Park for May 24 but this would be changed`. Two speak- ers have been secured for the day and there will also be class groups. The Presbytery will meet in St. An- drew s `Church on the same day. Home Mission Report , Rev. R. M. Hanna, chairman of the Home Mission `Committee, reported_ that there are Presbyterian groups at Fesserton and Waubaushene and he recommended that Rev. G. I. Craw of Victoria Harbor ascertain V the strength of these groups and report to Presbytery at the next meeting. Mr. Hanna suggested that if they are found to -be of sufficient strength to organize a charge, Coldwater, which is now grouped with Esson and Will- is, a rather unsatisfactory arrange- ment -because of the hard drive, might be linked with Fesserton and Waubaushene. ~ Mr. Hanna also reported that a congregational meeting had been held recently at Windermere, which is situated across the lake from Port Carling, and they were asking for a student for the months of June, July and August, also September if they can manage it. He asked Presbytery !or permission to elect a Session. II... ..II.....:._.. _J....I__)._ |.-__, n.,,,, 1TsE?TY or?
