In the Examiner of the 24th. is found an ac- count of this ceremony, parts of which I quote:-On the afternoon of Monday last a l_arge number of the elite of the town, of both sexes, paid a visit to the High School building, which was then to be formally opened. His Honour Judge Uowan, Chairman of the High School Board, presided, and distributed prizes to the successful pupils." His Honour in addressing the audience dealt with the rise, progress and present position of the Barrie High School. He referred with pleasure to the fact that though the Rnnrd had been and was composed of Roman Catholics and Protestants of several Denominations, thmm dufereiices had never made their appearam-.9 at the School Board; but all had worked together harmoniously for the good of the school.
