A.F Hunter Historian Passes Away.
Former Publisher of the Examiner Wrote "A History of Simcoe Co."
Died in Toronto.
Andrew Frederick Hunter, former publisher of the Barrie Examiner, and prominent historian, died at his late residence, 45 Hewitt Ave., Toronto, Saturday morning, Oct. 19, 1940, in his 77th year, after a serious illness extending over a period of seven weeks. He had been bed-ridden for a year, and prior to that had been in poor health as a result of stroke for about nine years.
Mr. Hunter was chiefly famous for his authorship of "A History of Simcoe County," in two volumes, which was published by Simcoe County Council in 1909.
