wilkes ws a steady peformer for the old boys and made no mistake with bis shot after taking a pass from gar the boumer brown as he teamed in over the bantam blueline the oldtimers bis 215 pound defence star bin sanders sr was a tower of strength on the allstars blueline although he as compietely deked out of poition on one ocasion by 120pouisd bii sanders jr and toppled heavily to the ice the most sparkling defensive performtn was turnid in by goalie kill vezina lennox in the oldtuners cage to say he had a buy ntsht would be putting it mildly he was literally vulcanized with rubber his jqb was made even more difficult when the oldtimers ran into a flood of penalties but he weathered the storm and only allowed three pucks to slip by him coach tom wedseltoft of the allstars used cec teader hendricks to grab tiie faceoffs when his team was a man short but coach clarke countered the strategy by sending out team captain norm hendricks who got the draws nine times out of ten au joking aside it was a tine show players of both teams enjoyed every minute of it and the cowd was equally enthusias tic if these former stouffville stars can once again find enough energy to pull on have visited the sportsmans show in toronto this week the peewee playoffs get underway at the arena on saturday afternoon what would you do with richard if you were in president campbells shoes what penalty would you mete out to rocket richard would you fine him would you suspend him for two or three games or would you expel him from the nhl for the rest of the season the answer to this question will be forthcoming possibly this week but here is how we feel on the matter for our money we dont think richard should be allowed to take part in another national hockey league contest for the remainder of the current schedule or the playoffs you think that is a pretty stiff penalty perhaps so but what ahout the opposing players who almost weekly are subjected to the rockets wild exhibitions of temper his re cent episode with bostoms ha laycoe is nothing new its happening all the time the penalties placed on richard following such incidents are becoming nothing more than a joke what happens to ted lindsay when he takes a poke at an abusive spectator in a front row seat hes suspended richard can push the officials around or break his stick over another players hend and he gets away with it some day unless hes stopped his riotous actions on the ice may prove fatal to some innocent player take our own senior b league for instance can you imagine what would happen to players like hal gibson geo stark gordie lladdleton or klwood small it they suddenly attacked an opposing player using their sticks like axes they would certainly receive more than a 100 fine richard is a great hockey player probably one of the greatest hut theres no place for him on the ice as long as he persists in deliberately attempting to injure members of the opposing teams the rockot has no orillia blue- line and rifled a hard shot into the top corner of the net his tally was similar to stephen sons opening goal penalties almost fatal in the early minutes of the second frame stouffville ran into a number of costly penal ties and orillia took advantage of their extra manpower to give clipper netminder jack rhodes a hazardous time it took favero only ten seconds to break the goose egg when iie intercepted a bad pass by de- fenceman ed calhoun and blinked the light as the puck rolled a fraction of an inch over the line at 3s al shew- ehuk put his team right back in the game with a
