stoutlv editor it appears to me that you and your sports editor are go ing about the wrong way iiyan etfort to promote the new oha metro senior b hockey league we are living in changing times old ideas and forms of town vs town promotion are gone yet in the new metro hockey league stouffville clippers with their team from all ioints between stoulfville scanboro leaside and rich mond hill is but one commun ity unit playing against other community units located with in the rim of greater toronto your insistance of calling the turn as stouffville vs toronto regardless of whom they are playing with the exception of the aurora lambton wheeler- lumbermen to give them their full title is in line with some of the old ideas mentioned a- bove stouffville clippers should enjoy one of their best seas ons from an attendance stand point in the new metro setup when you play lyndhursts- dynes and kiy flyeis the stoulfville clippers are not playing toronto as you have stated tout rather they are playing teams from east york leaside and ravina three wi dely separated and different communities within greater toronto need i point out the keen rivalry that exists when brooklin dodgers play new york giants or even new york yankees in a world ser ies all three teams are part of the greater new york area and they seem to get along quite well from a competi tive point and gate stand point i wonder if you and my oth er good friends in stouffville realize just how many socal led foreigners from toronto pardon greater toronto make the saturday night trip to stoufrville to see clippers and their opposition im not going to deny that clippers also have their home following of loyal stouffville fans but each time i visit your rink i run into many fans from scanboro lea side and east york and from north yonge street im not going to deny that the business of enjoying a trip especially the long trip home on a cold winters night from such places as petenboro orillia and kingston has its advantages but why cant the same thrills toe experienced playing the communitized theres a word for you teams from greater toronto ail i ask is that you and jim thomas- forget the toron to angle and play up the fact that when lyndhursts are playing clippers in stouftville it is east york against stouff ville and the same is true when dynes visit your town theyre from leaide a thriv jliig community that is loaded i with hockey rooters the kiy flyers hail from ravina gar dens located in the west tor onto junction area and for the record the aurora wheelers are actually from the lamb- tonkingsway area and have the lambton lumber com pany as their sponsor they had intended playing their home games at either weston or woodbridge but the junior b teams of those respective centres beat them to it and they were obliged to locale at aurora i honestly hope that new market gets into the senior b setup with their addition of several toronto players who have found themselves with out competition since the with drawal of the thl major series at varsity arena new markets entry would add con- considerable spice to our home competition getting back to the cause of all this the thought strikes me that no wonder your fans have been lukewarm in recent games if you have insisted on reporting that clippers were playing a toronto team many of the fan would think that they are playing the same team all the time while i dont for a second give support to the stick swinging episode that put nick bangay on the shelf for a time there is no doubt that the stouffville a- rena will not be large enough to hold the fans desiring to see that kiy flyers outfit from ravina when they dare to venture into stouffville for their next scheduled game i do know that is one lime when youll not refer to them as to ronto tout rather the kiy flyers to remind your fails of the distasteful incident that occurred sincerely bunny morganson omha league practice fri night stoutrvines bantam midget
