former barbara robson of stouftville also called on miss duncan on monday a couple of dozen local citizens and young folks added a little life and humour to the anniversary celebration on monday evening following the concert when they organized an oldfashioned night shirt parade on main st and with the aid of fiddler truman baxter and caller wilf ferguson tripped oft a few numbers in front of with special window displays a e weldon son drew no end of- viewers to their window which contained a great number of photos taken in stouftville during the past seventy- five years one of these pictures which drew particular interest was a view of main st looking east from church st a half century ago other groups firemen school board baseball teams lacrosse teams and celebrations of past years portrayed many of the fam iliar faces of those who were prominent figures here in days gone by r e curtis window con tained the photos of all the past reeves of stouffviue centred by the large charcoal photo of the present reeve henry ogden on saturday night an air of celebration was added by a number of residents in old time costume who paraded the street calling on the various busi ness places the one group was led by reeve timbers of mark ham twp in tall silk hat accom panied by mrs timbers mrs sw hastings miss anne lehman and mr and mrs ii o klinck the ladies of the group were dressed in stylish gay ninety attire while ho got many a laugh in his white nightgown night cap and candle mrs boy dickson of toronto and sisterinlaw of miss bessie dick son eastend wellknown stouft ville family of longstanding was a lone wolf in her old time outfit and clay pipe and had everyone giias- ing most of the evening as to her identity on monday she was accompanied by mrs w hopkins in an equally striking outfit leh- mans store had a fine display of old fashioned hand made shoes and mrs m e watts store win dows at the westend displayed fancy drses and millinery of seventyfive years ago owkk tayiok a pretty doublering wedding was solemnized on saturday aug 2nd at the home of rev f h muir when mabel elizabeth daughter of mrs taylor and the late andrew taylor was united in marriage with wilbert j gower son of the late mr and mrs wm gower the bride chose a streetlength dress of mauve sheer with match ing hat and wore a corsage of yellow roses and bouvardia she was attended by her sister mary taylor wearing yellow sheer and matching hat with a corsage of red carnations and bouvardia k d woodburn was groomsman after a luncheon at the home of the brides mother they left on a motor trip to eastern canada for travelling the bride wore a blue woollen suit with navy accessories and a mink carf the gift of the groom after their return they will reside in stouftville kith k barker wei to james johnston rev g e ashton otliciated at the marriage in st clair avenue united church of ruth elizabeth barker daughter of mr and mrs m c barker to james johnston son of the late mr and mrs george johnston given away by her father the bride wore a ballerinalength gown of white net over pale blue tafteta and a finger tip veil of net and handmade lace gathered to a taffeta and pearl coronet she carried a crescent of pink roses and white carnations her only attendant was mrs her bert hood in yellow silk organza with hairgarland matching her bouquet of tiny yellow roses and united church on saturday aug 2 jack victor thompson of smooth rock falls took as his bride eileen muriel carson the bride who was a grad uate of 1918 of the oshawa general hospital is the daughter of mrs carson and the late errol carsou of brooklin and the groom is the son of mr and mrs william thompson of kenora the church was beautifully decorated with baskets of mauve and white gladioli and ferns formed the back ground for the ceremony perform ed by rev h r monkman miss marion disney was the pianist mr lome carson sang o perfect love and because during the signing of the register given in marriage by her brother mr kenneth carson the bride wore a gown of white french lace over taffeta with fitted bodice portait neckline and full skirt extending into a train her veil was gathered to a lace and tafteta coronet and she carried a cascade of red roses miss bernice mcavoy was maid of honor and the brides maids were mrs mavis graham and miss iuella carson in green net over taffeta with lace capes tafteta and lace caps they carried bouquets of mauve gladioli best man was mr william remple and ushers were messrs ralph mil liard and allan carson the reception was held at the brides home where her mother received in light blue crepe and lace with a corsage of pink carna tions she was assisted by the grooms mother wearing a medium blue ensemble with similar cor sage for travelling to muskoka the bride chose a gold and navy ensemble the young couple will make their home at smooth rock falls guests were present from kenora barrie toronto oshawa claremont brooklin and mount zion
