more than twelve hours gutted the geo baker buildthgljpn main st here including two stores and apartments above while the roof collapsed part of the frame structure was saved the tire was first noticed by mr baker with the temperature hovering near zero firemen controlled the stubborn blaze with three hose lines when they arrived on the scene just moments after the siren wailed there was little actual fire to be seen but immed iately the streams of water began playing on the sawdustfilled walls tongues of flame broke out in several directions lassie a large police dog owned by mr baker died in the flames trapped it was believed on the upper floor both mr baker and mr um sanders an apartment tenant were able to get out to the street before the outbreak be came intense george auto and under the rear wheels the limited space between the undercarriage of the car and the ground resulted in mrs groves bsng dragged along after she managed to roll free she jumped up and tried to get into the auto from the drivers side but couldnt make it she ran around the other side and got in miss audrey jennings visited with her parents mr and mrs tom jennings over tne holidays mr and mrs jack hamilton mrs d johnson and heather mr chas green of toronto and mr donald devine of orillia spent new years at tiie jennings home to which all are invited to sub scribe donations will be acknow
