drowned in a futile attempt to save the life of her sixyearold grandson who had ventured be yond his depth dead are mrs lome bagshaw 59 lifelong resident and michael snodden son of mr and mrs morris snodden who live on a farm in georgina township michael and his cousin donald bagshaw six were visiting their grandparents farm on the black river excited and anxious to explore the two boys had left their lunch unfinished and ran down to the river they had only been gone a short time when their grandmother went outside looked around and then suddenly heard michaels voice down by the liver crying camplin widow of james w camplin was conducted by rev w s butt in the central united church unionville on saturday july 15 mrs camplin was the daughter of mr and mrs alexander home who lived in the township of reach near greenbank in 1s75 she was married to james camplin and they farmed near greenbank until 1911 when they moved to unionville where mrs camplin lived until about is months ago when failing health caused her to give up her home she died in the bradford nurs ing home on july 13 at the age of 07 years although she had reach ed a great age her mental faculties were quite normal until a few days before her death she led an exemplary christian life was a member of the united church a member of the wa and a life member of the vvms she is survived by one grand daughter mrs eileen cooke cunningham her husband two sons russell and arthur and one daughter laura mrs cooke predeceased her following the service the funeral proceeded to greenbank for inter ment in the family whitchurch twp passes in 88th year mrs margaret foster passed away on sunday july 16th two days prior to her 88th birthday at the home of her daughter mrs chas preston of lot 1g con 7 whitchurch she had made her home with mrs preston for some years mrs foster was born in whitchurch township her parents being mr and mrs john mcclennan of scottish origin her husband george foster prede ceased her 2s years ago two years ago the late mrs foster sulfered a stroke and dur ing the past winter had pneu monia she had been bedfast for two weeks the fosters farmed north of bethesda for years on the farm now occupied by fred preston and lived in aurora some 30 years the deceased was a member of bethesda united church she is survived by three sons george and earl of aurora walter of sutton west and by one daughter mrs chas preston laura of stouff ville rr also surviving are 22 grandchildren 21 great grand children and 2 great great grand children funeral service was held in thompsons funeral home in aurora by rev mr moddle on wednesday july 19th followed by intermeal in aurora cemetery crosier reunion in memorial park the 19th annual reunion of the crosier family was held on satur day july 15 1950 at stouffville memorial park the day was per fect for the occasion and a most enjoyable social time was spent during the afternoon an interesting program of sports was held including baseball supper was served and while at the table with the honorary president mr cecil crosier toronto in charge special prizes were given to mr and mrs john albright uxbridge for the oldest man and woman present and to ronald wesley crosier infant son of mr and mrs allan crosier blackwater for the youngest person present the following officers were elected for another year honorary president cecil crosier sr tor onto president wesley crosier blackwater vicepresident roy hart uxbridge secretarytreasurer delbert catherwood claremont it was agreed to hold the 1951 reunion at the same place
