thursday a piece of granite striped with quartz its a piece usually found far north of here evidence of a glaciers movement in the distant past its part of the accumulating material that will show the paths of the ancient massing of ice and enable reconstruction of a map of the area as it existed thousands of years ago as for the mastodons maybe just maybe said shriever wistfully we will find beloved brother in christ our elder cober is no more he is gone to them who have gone before and sad his absence is no more we can his counsel have no more the good advice he gave his tender care we miss a brother who was always dear now when we meet docs not appear for vacant is his place with us his absence causes pain to look for him is now in vain no more we see his face he journeyed much through wet and dry wearied souls to win would try no hardships did he shun he dreaded neither cold nor snow a will to serve would always show nor boast of what hed done he preached the sound and simple truth applicable to age and youth but kept in low esteem allowed no selfish thoughts to rise humility did exercise pride found no room in him money collections he did not make pay for sermons he would not take it was not what he sought his office it impressed him deep aware he had a charge to keep with fervor he then taught for service rendered he made no demands but labored hard with his own hands when not away from home and by his labor could afford himself and family to support he was not burdensome in selfdenial he did walk would weigh his words in all his talk he thought before lie spoke a good example he did set his care for all the church was great to build what plans he took we hope his toils will be well paid his king and priesthood never fade with bloodwashed reign
