in the village there are patches of sickness it seems to develop in one part of the neigh bourhood more than another of course its nothing catching unless perhaps the weight of years which catches up on all of us sooner or later checking up the voters last week contenders for office found they could count on little support from blake street residents since it was discovered that almost every house was nursing someone ill blake street be it known is that onesided street running south off main and parallel with the east side of the cnr tracks south of the station at the extreme end of the street lives a long established citizen fred cockerill mr cockerill is ill and unable to be about for some time then his neighbor richard 0ward is also ill dick is probably the first man in these parts to ever lift the hood off a car to attempt a repair job way back at the turn of the century living north of mr ward is the former squire hall of lemonville whose undercarriage is not just what he would like it to be but it takes more than weak limbs to keep this citizen down for any length of time so we hope to see mr hall down town again shortly it just isnt looking right around the post office at mail time when squire dan isnt sitting out side smoking his pipe only other male resident on blake street is hugh anderson who survived many years of hockey when it was rough and tumble on a smaller sheet of ice than we know today hence the bumps were harder and came more often yes and you played the whole sixty minutes in hughs day without subs only hugh anderson was able to vote on the municipal election from blake street but what we meant to say at the outset is that blake street held the record for casualties on that day when men seeking public office were scouring about for votes
