see him take it home e richmond acting for cowie moved to enter a nonsuit there is no evidence that cowie ever had possession of any of the stolen goods and only hickmans evidence that he was there when they were taken he said the nonsuit was disallowed cowie testified that he was not there at the time the stolen goods were taken or when they were divided and said that he had no criminal record except for the sen tence he is now serving he said he served for four and a half years in the army the last is months of which were spent as a member of the military police prentice testified that hickman had brought the stolen goods to him i didnt know where it had come from before he said he was alone cowie had nothing to do with it as far as i know i was in bed when hickman came he wanted to know if i had a place where he could keep the goods for a few days i said yes if it wasnt there too long we carried the stuff into the kitchen it was not divided i put it in the cellar be cause i thought that was the best place for it you knew it was hot stuff mr armstrong inquired yes the only evidence against cowie is that of hickman and even he says he did not see cowie take his share magistrate hollinrake said the case against him will be dismissed there is no doubt that prentice is guilty of receivin mrs prentice who has six child ren said prentice served in the en gineers for four years was ordin arily a good provider but had trou ble during the depression and dur ing the past winter magistrate hollinrake said he be lieved prentice to be the leading spirit in the mixup and
