with their son and family mr and mrs roy nigh mr and mrs brandon henry of toronto spent sunday with mr and mrs h spofford mr and mrs joseph wideman and family had dinner sunday with mr and mrs allan wideman mr and mrs peter stickley and mr and mrs a j shelter of stay- ner called on mr and mrs peter brillinger of gormley on sunday we are very sorry to loose mr and mrs ed nigh and family from our community they moved to the 7th line last week mr and mrs geo french return ed home sunday after spending some time in hespeller mr and mrs levi stickley of gormley had dinner sunday with mr and mrs geo cober mrs peter stickley entertained a few friends on wednesday to a quilt bee our township council is shifting to all west side members again we hope it will not lead to high taxes as it appeared relatives of the late mrs levi grove mr and mrs wm clarkson were guests of mr and mrs w h bur nett bloomington on sunday a number from this vicinity at tended the ice capades held in the maple leaf gardens toronto last week mr and mrs howard st john and mr and mrs david crosier were in oshawa on saturday last owing to missing the mail recently it was overlooked report ing of the presentation to mr and mrs hugh boyd of stouftville in honor of their recent marriage quite a number from the surround ing community met at the home of mr and mrs norman neil and a very pleasant evening was spent mrs boyd used to live in this vicinity quite a number of friends of the community met recently at the home of mr and mrs dolos morris to do honor to their nephew mr roy heard and his war bride who just recently arrived a miscellane ous shower was tendered and the nice collection of useful gifts were appreciated by the newly weds roy has been working for his uncle since he returned from overseas and they intend to remain here for some time mr and mrs heard have just returned from a visit with relatives at tilsonburg and a similar honor was bestowed on them while there thus they came home with a full car we welcome mrs heard to our community his home at lot 6 con 10 markham on friday last in his 61th year he is survived by his wife and by two sons james alexander and stewart scott the funeral on monday from clendennings funeral home mark- ham proceeded to zion cemetery cedar grove for interment funeral services held for mrs steckley funeral services were held on thursday for mrs christopher steckley who died at newmarket on tuesday nov 26th rev c r cragg of kettleby conducted the services assisted by rev levi at kinson of uxbridge mrs steckley who was in her s7th year was born in whitchurch main open all day on wednesday next week to accommodate christ mas shoppers they will remain open on monday and tuesda3 even ing next week as well in lieu of this extra service the
