succeeded in moving a building from bloomington to a lot on mr a cowies farm near the lake the building formerly situated on the english property was purchased by mr canning of toronto deer demolishes every green leaf in garden m deer are well named because most everybody loves them when they are in their proper element and we are inclined to take their part and want them protected even when they wander to the outskirts of towns and villages however no body wants a deer in his garden and when one does land up in that cultivated acreage it is usually too bad for the garden such an experi ence came to russel nendick old stouffville boy living at leaskdale in scott township the other morn ing he arose to find every leaf in the garden nipped off and any that were overlooked were tramped into the mud imprints of deer hoofs left little doubt about who to place the blame on deer were reported in the nei ghborhood sometime ago but they were not seen by mr nendick why thejy should have treated his garden lot as though it were a paddock is hard to understand since it was just as easy to leave after eating their fill of lettuce beets carrots onions and potatoes were tramped badly probably in protest for not having a likeable flavor if russel nendick could prove his claim before the dept of game and fisheries he might be reimbur sed for his loss since deer are pro tected and are the property of the government of course dollars and cents would never replace a good garden at this stage of the season at vivian mr fred may musician and radio soloist who will be in at tendance at the
