former parish the victory loan drive starts on april 23rd messrs h o klinck blake sanders and l e oneill are the local salesmen the latter two are new men for such campaigns but great things are the 10th of markham on the first of may to occupy their comparatively new house the pur chased price was reported o be 3500 mr spofford has rented his farm at mongolia to mr wm mil ler of scarboro who will shortly be doing his spring seeding on his new leasehold in poor health for the past three years mrs charles rose cedar valley died at york county hos pital born in king township on march 27 1875 mary aljision elsie red- ditt was adaughtor of mr andmrs robert redditt eversley she mar ried charles h rose on oct 25 1901 mrs rose was a member of the union church pine orchard surviving besides her husband are one son leslie rrose cedar valley and one daughter mrs ed win breen helen ravenshoe mrs rose was the last surviving member of a family of eight chil dren rev r j d simpson toronto and rev recently with her husband in canada he was a wellington bomber pilot easter choral concert an appreciative audience attend ed the good friday concert of sacred music by the stouffville un ited church choir mrs james russell of unionville and mr a empringham of markham added their vocal talents as visiting- solo ists while the choir rendered selec tions from the easter cantatas crucifixtion and olivet to calvary assisting the choir as local soloists were miss marquerita grubin and mrs d chadwick musical num bers were offered by miss anne lehman on the organ and miss alice forsyth on the cornet mrs chas nolan organist accompanied the program mrfl button ten dered the appreciation of the audi ence and the church musical com mittee to the choir for their splen- rnrrnm the entire talent
