place is a mess jerry seems generally to make a mess of civilian areas when he puts on a blitz the weather her is mild and damp and the boys feel the cold and wish they were tack where it was drier sible as you probably know bert chocolate bars gum etc cant be bought in stores here and things like that make a very welcome addi tion to the wartime diet here its funny but you dont seem to miss little luxuries until you cant get them give my regards to the rest of the vets we are right on the south coast now billited in private homes we are having beautiful weather for this time of the year today is just like a day in spring and there has been no frost as yet things arevery quiet but it sure was plenty hot last march april and may i guess jerry has his hands full- somewhere else now so
