matter of reopening the yps which closed last january mrs r chapman was elected as leader to call a meeting next week for the pur pose of reorganizing the society menmonite yp elect new of the young people of the dicksons hill and mount joy menuonite brethren in christ churches met last monday evening at mount joy and were addressed by miss eleanor moyer who spent the past summer in northern ontario as a worker of the canadian sunday school mission the work of this mission is carried on for the benefit of isolated com munities in the great north country who have not the church privileges of folk living in the more populous areas of the province miss moyer held the interest of congregation as she gave a vivid account of her labours during the past summer the listeners were made to appreci ate their opportunities of inspiration given through the varied ministry of the church the annual election of officers then took place which was as follows president william barkey vice- transferred to the dresden when we were permitted to be with our families hold services again and altogether we were treated kindly by the germans we spent 33 days on this boat long weary ones not knowing where we might land through it all we had great rea son to thank god for the covenants given us in the sky said the speak er as after the great deluge on the earth god caused thebow in the sky
