holmes are improving the following were city visitors over the weekend mr imorley sanders lemonville mr john bit- teral 6th line whitchurch mr d v roberts unionville and messrs wilbert gower ted tyrer and harry pennock all of stouffville before another issue of the tri- diine reaches some readers and friends of the flash correspondent we imagine christmas greetings will be well handed around and so we herein extend our hearty good wishes to cue and all we hear that an oshawa reader of this paper purchased a quantity ct apples advertised by mr siouff- er at ringwood last week and so stouffville apples will make oshawa apple pie this winter yum yum uxbridge township school teachers provided the dainty lunch served to the meeting of scott and uxbridge teachers held in uxbridge public school building on nov 27 we hear the evening was a happy one and the lunch a particularly well prepared affair and for which miss m baker was in charge the veteran alt pugh of stouff ville celebrated another birthday the other day despite his serious ill ness of past years this veteran is living in the east end of the village probably the inspiration he gets from his close proximity to another uxbridge veteran george dowswell epurs him along you just cant stop the boys the other day when going was bad and next to impossible murray mcgilli- vray used skis to reach the town- line while we are on the mcgilli- vrays we might mention that robt was home from queensville for sunday we regret to announce the death of imrs graham of mcpherson ave toronto she was buried at clare- monnt and with her husband was a member of the century baptist church in this city probably we missed out at the time they were married but the other day we were talking to mrs bert sharpe only to learn that one son and one daughter are married hence mrs sharpe only has one daughter left and living at home with the mother lost strayed or stolen last week motoring through the village of goodwood we tried to have a look at that new sidewalk recently put down but we couldnt find it no sir that all wool and a yard wide walk was missing well anyway we couldnt see it the road is for cars and horses but the sidewalk should be maintained for the gentry nuff said frank kelly mpp is reported to have secured a government snow plow to be located at uxbridge this winter its first duty we would im agine would be to keep the road open between uxbridge and stouff ville so that people in the township will have a way out it will be a great help in view of the fact the township has not solved the snow removal problem the other day we called on geo morgason and in the course of our conversation ho recalled that when a small boy he carried the mail up the second line and almost every trip he had an order of tobacco for someone george was a very small boy when the first train went through goodwood hut he hasnt exactly forgotten the excitement of those days nomination day is close at hand and folks are again talking about municipal changes well its hard to suit everybody for he that tries to do that suits no one the old coun cil in uxbridge wore a conscientious lot but they do not suit everybody and so changes may bo expected here and there anyway its democracy in the true form when we all think our own way then go to the polls and poll our votes with the majority in the saddle next of all may things go on in good spirit the death of jim sharrard in tor onto last week removed a native son of uxbridge township he was a son of the late mr and mrs calvin sharrard and is survived by his wife two daughters
