quite a few people protesting against the manner in which halloween pranks are carried on by the older boys the innocent amusement during the early part of the eveninng should be relished by everybody but the destruction that is carried out around midnight is inexcusable one of the common objective of the halloween squad seems to he destruction or mov able front door steps an act which led to a law suit in bruce county a few years ago when an elderly person came out of their home and not knowing the steps had been re moved by pranksters fell and broke a limb the parents of the boy who removed the steps had to forfeit 400 last thursday night num erous steps were removed buildings overturned and a bit of other damage was done some of it was not funny and caused expense to people who could not afford to spend unnecessary money mickey oconnor a familiar figure to the boys who made up stouffvilles famous lacrosse team of forty years ago was in town on thursday renewing old acquaint ances he is now living on a small acreage at utica when stouffville won the ontario championship in isiis mickey was one of the play ers but he was just a lad then last week when he stepped into frank raes tailoring shop the needle pusher recognized him right off likewise when he called on edw pennock at his home the former liveryman said without any hesita tion hello imickey since this old lacrosse
