will be the speaker at both services quiet wedding at parsonage a quiet wedding was solem nized at the united church parsonage claremont on satur day evening when isobel middle- ton daughter of mr and mrs william middleton of mark- ham township became the bride of norman degeer who is employed on the north town- line rev i kennedy officiated at the ceremony sister agnes middleton of stouffviue acted as bridesmaid while brother stanley degeer was best man farmer injured in tangle with team arthur prouse of the 6th concession suffered possible dislocation of one knee on sat urday afternoon when he be came entangled with his team while returning from the hay field apparently the flies were bothering the horses consider ably and in tossing her head the one animal caught the line in such a manner as to pull her backwards backing mr prouse who was on the mower seat in to a gully to add to the mixup the neckyoke broke and the trussed up horses managed to get turned around and wedge the unfortunate farmer against the seat giving his leg a bad squeeze his cries for help brought neighbours dave pugh and milton benson to the scene and they were able to free both horse and man mrs sidney bennett dead mrs sidney bennett of clare mont passed away at her home on monday morning at the age of 73 years mrs bennett whose husband predeceased her some twenty years was a daugh ter of mr and mrs john mckay of oakville deceased was al ways of a most cheerful nature and has made her home here since the death of her husband she is survived by four sisters mrs c b patterson vancou ver mrs f tripp toronto mrs oscar bray buffalo mrs w bennett markham and one brother william mckay of oakville the funeral was helfl on wednesday afternoon to clare mont union cemetery sister of pickering woman is buried at queensville funeral services for the late mrs lewis irwin took place on friday afternoon with inter ment at queensville cemetery rev arthur greer conducted the services before her marriage on march 5 1928 mrs irwin was alma l thompson she was born at zephyr oct 27 1902 her parents were the late hul- dah arnold and kemp thomp son of queensville the family moved to queens ville when she was a small child and she went to school there she became a registered nurse graduating from victoria mem orial hospital toronto she practised her profession in toronto newmarket and de troit it was in detroit that she met her husband following their marriage they lived in detroit until 1933 and then moved to stratford and subse quently toronto five years ago mr and mrs irwin moved to newmarket where for the last two and a half years mr irwin has been the rural mailman for r r 1 newmarket besides her husband one brother and three sisters are left sidney thompson queens ville mrs harvey
