of picton mr and mrs w dennie and jim gormley mr and mrs w l carver and norman offlint mich mr and mrs ernest carver of detroit visited with mr and mrs robert carver on thurs day evening because of declining health mr carver was unable to at tend the funeral of his brother the late james ilonry carver the fun eral took place on thursday july 11 to victoria square john pike has an all round negotiated these sales adding to their big line of implements now in the local territory j h carver found dead in bed the funeral of the late james henry carver of toronto took place on thursday july 11th to victoria square service be ing held in the united church there and interment in the adjoining cemetery the rev mr mckay pastor of the church conducted the service pall bearers were messrs james carver arthur frisby george mccron toronto james dennie and joseph smith gormley and norman carver of flint mich and bruce winterstein a number of relatives and old friends gathered at the church to pay their last respects to one who had spent his youth in this district the late james carver in his 74th year was a son of the late robert carver and julia anne mckenzie he was born on the northwest corner of what is known as old gormley but when a small lad moved with his parents to victoria square while still a young man he left the old home and spent many years in the united states having lived in nimieapoms minnesota north and south dakota and flint michigan when he retired from active work he returned to toronto where he made his home until his sudden death he was one of a family of eleven children two of whom elijah john and norman died a number of years ago four sisters and four brothers sur vive mrs eliza mccron mrs robert mccron mrs arthur frisby all of toronto mrs wm dennie of gormley robert of stouffville benjamin of picton ont lambert of flint mich and ernest of detroit mich the late mr carver retired to his room on sunday night apparently in his usual health but when he failed to come down at the usual hour on mon day morning investigation found that he had been dead for some time death was due to heart trouble he had never married mr carver was a familiar figure in the district since his return from the united states being a frequent visitor at the home of his sister mrs william dennie of gormley and at the home of his niece mrs ross winterstein sixth line whit church peaches mr and mrs j w tibbetts and bohby of malton were recent visit ers with mrs tibbetts mother mrs i o cleverdon mr and mrs earl tate and amily of lemonville at tending the childrens meetings in the church a very unfortunate accident occurred here saturday night when 3 car of toronto people swerved to avoid hitting a skunk on the road and upset in the officiated at queen street east presbyterian church saturday when miss marguerite edith davidson daugh ter of mr and mrs charles david son toronto became the bride ot james kenneth harper son of mr and mrs john harper of toronto and formerly of rlngwood miss alary coper played the wedding music amid a setting of peonies and delphiniums the bride was given in marriage by her father aliss chris tine davidson sister of the bride was the only attendant al white side was host man and charles davidson and murray alair were the ushers after the ceremony the bride changed to a french printed silk community friends and neighbors of air harry white are pleased to learn that he is progressing in the toron to general hospital where he was taken following a serious accident when a limh of a tree brushed him off a load of hay the wheels of the wagon passing over him a large number of friends of aliss alarian winger and mr george kelly met at the home of air and airs jos heise on thursday of
