with mrs robertson mrs porters mother we are glad to report that mrs douglas gee mrs john snider mrs egbert avison and mrs wilmot brumwell are all improving in health and will soon be able to enjoy life as usual once more several cars loaded with young people left our church last sunday afternoon and journeyed north with wellfill ed lunch baskets to enjoy a few hours of social fellowship and recreation with the young people of camp ahshunyoong at sib- balds point lake simcoe in the evening all attended the in spirational service at the camp where these young people of toronto east and toronto north presbyteries are spending a week of worship and study members of our jfa visited klaymore farm for their regular monthly meeting on tuesday evening inspecting crops and livestock on their return they joined the girls of the j w i in the community hall where refreshments were served the newlyweds mr and mrs walker ridley were pre sented with an address and a gift of beautiful daughterinlaw of tillsonburg visited mr and mrs alph hoover on sunday mr and mrs reg nighswan der of lockport ny spent the holiday with mr and mrs john nighswander mr and mrs thos williams and all the little ws spent the holiday at swastika beach near guelph at a reunion of the loree family mr alph hoover had the joy of returning a pretty ear ring he had found belonging to one of the girl visitors home of mrs s arnold preparations for the garden party are started a dainty tea followed the business session one of the members had the honour of pouring tea mr and mrs armour ellis and miss kathleen of orange- ville spent the holiday weekend with brother john and mrs nighswander in order to be present at the memorial day service at the locust hill cemetery on sunday melville miss helen smith spent the weekend with her grand- parennts mr and mrs day in toronto mr peter steckley spent the sunday at stayner where camp meeting is now being held mr and mrs harry wide- man and family of toronto vis ited with mr and mrs carson wideman on sunday mrs w waterson and baby girl of toronto have just returned after spending a two week vacation with her sister mrs a miller and family mr and mrs t popham and katharine who are now tor onto residents called on several of their old neighbours on saturday night mr and mrs willis lehman mr harmon lehman and mr and mrs jos gayman motor ed to delhi where they spent the sunday with mr bruce leh man and relatives a number from melville at tended the annual decoration service held at peachs cemetery at 230 onsunday afternoonthe preacher for that occasion was rev bert turner of the church of the air the floral decora tions were beautiful melville seems to be a little busier of late the rev mr orr and his family moved to the parsonage on friday the in duction service was held the same evening and the speakers were the rev wilson of mount albert and rev dicks of scar- boro united church there was a good attendance and both addiesses were truly something to take home and ponder over on tuesday evening the bethesda young peoples union visited melville giving the en tire program which brought the westminster guild to a close for the summer months a large attendance enjoyed an inspiring program after which all adjour ned to the basement for a social time together at this time presentations were made to mr and mrs mcewen mrs mceweii has been a much appreciated teacher of the mel ville junior bible class and was presented with a very use ful oak table by her class the the big garden party at cedar grove on saturday night of this week bethesda ypu then present ed mr mcewen with a moffats translation of the bible which was just what he wanted the couple then very graciously thanked the young people and expressed their joy in working among them and their love for and interest in them all re freshments were then served and farewells offered the strawberry social was a splendid success a large num ber gathered in mr loftons park on wednesday evening which was moonlight and per fect after the rows and rows of red berries which decorated the tables had disappeared along with delicious pies and cakes a good program of music was enjoyed both outside and home talent entertained in a de lightful way during the pro gram mrs mcewen was asked to take her chair along with mr mcewen on the platform mrs h forrester
