and mrs walter vague mr and mrs fraser of creemore spent a few days re cently with their daughter mrs don wilson mr and mrs gordon holden and miss erla were sunday visitors with mr and mrs geo gower we are glad to know that miss ruth ferguson is home from the toronto general hos pital after having sucessfully undergone an operation for appendicitis mr harry kennedy of agin- court and soninlaw of mr e sinclair has been recntly trans ferred to windsor harry who is well known here is employed by the ford motor co ringwood mr and mrs ralph macken- zie left one day last week on a motor trip to british columbia miss priscilla pipher is home after spending several weeks at kitchener rev and mrs robert serrick of keswick had dinner on saturday evening with mr and mrs geo m bell marks 84th birthday mrs george m bell sister of the late john hebson who was constable of markham for many years celebrated her 84th birth day at the home of her daughter mrs les stover at campbell- ford mrs bell has been an invalid for 16 years she has five daughters and one son living 14 grandchildren and six great grandchildren two men john norton clare- mont and norma wilson kin- sale were overcome by carbon monoxide fumes in the cab of a snowplow early monday but escaped serious harm when the men became un conscious the machine continued driverless for a short distance then it left the road and stalled in deep snow john norton claremont tum bled out into the snow as he slumped over his arm struck the latch of the cab door un fastening the catch and allow ing him to fall the engineer said the men complained to each other of feeling drowsy as fumes from a leaking exhaust seeped into the cabin as they neared the approach to no 7 highway near brougham wilson the driver slumped un conscious in his seat the plow swung around and headed for the middle of a nearby service station before he could aid his companion norton also passed out from the fumes and tum bled out of the cab when the engine stalled the fumes ceased and wilson gradually revived returning on foot he found norton lying in the snow al though weak himself he man aged to resuscitate his com panion i couldnt tell anything un til i passed out like a light said wilson the driver i just seemed to faint and lose con trol of the plow it was lucky the snow was so deep for it stopped the plow from heading for the service station i came to gradually and saw jack lying back in the snow he continued i packed his head with snow and flopped him around we managed to get to the service station a couple of hundred yards away and then
