is breakfast after which each must return to her cabin to tidy up the call for lights out comes at 1030 in the evening four camp counsellors are selected from the eatons girls club one from the university of toronto and a registered nurse from the general hospital hamilton all counsellors must have previous camp experience as to the activities they are practically unlimited to begin with there is sailing supervised by miss elinore keyes of toron to a sixteenfoot dingy is used for instruction crew and skip per awards are given to those passing tests in sailing time races are held from time to time over a triangular course swimming is also supervised by miss keyes as is golf a nine hole course is provided and numerous tournaments are held canoing is looked after by miss wilson of edmonton who gives instruction in paddling and the care and handling of a canoe miss cook of toronto supervis es the ridingfor which ten splendid saddle horses are pro vided miss dorothy earl and dorothy reid have charge of the social work which consists of campfires sing songs roasts and other various programs divine worship is held each sun day morning with the campers and the counselors conducting the service to feed just such a host of envigorated young ladies as attend this summer spot each year requires considerable plan ning said mrs gardner on whose shoulders rests the job of planing meals weeks in advance over 75 per cent of the supplies not produced on the farm are purchased right here in stouff ville and to give you some idea of the quantities required we quote a few figures there are consumed some 525 quarts of milk a week over 5000 eggs a season 385 loaves of bread a week 17 pies a week and 500 lbs of cut cake potatoes run up to 55 bushels a season and fish over 700 lbs a season mrs gardner has three and sometimes four assistants in catering to the appetites of the camp the rates for such a splendid outing as this adjacent summer spot provides are most reason able and the city girls are high in their praise thus the camp has grown over the years to its present proportions and is ex- expected to continue to do so relax constable cayman investigated when cream social which is to be held at mrs russell feasbys on august 17 when the young people of brougham are giving their play which is highly recommended the goodwood branch of the womens institute held their july meeting in the form of a picnic at mrs howard harpers the program consisted of contests races and over fifty sat down to supper after which the ladies served ice cream it was decided to hold the bazaar at musselmans lake on satur day afternooil august 20 on the lawn of mrs charles lees cottage the big agitation in the com munity is to have a well dug in the park and to have the hydro permanently connected as the new concert stand and the booth are permanently wired our field day last year and this have been such a success there is great en couragement to continue the sport and myrtle rose have returned home hav ing completed their summer courses at hamilton mr fred wright mr and mrs ben smith mrs george wilson and two children elsie and george all of toronto were recent guests of milton fock- lers mr george myers of hamil ton is visiting his aunt mrs g o wright misses ruby fockler and rose allen are holidaying with miss focklers brother at port hooe social held last
