lehman of the stouffville band is nursing sore shoulders caused by carrying the heavy drum on the four mile march in the northern town a gentleman from this neighbour hood was stopped by a markham constable one night last week walls returning home from stouffville at a very late hour there were no garages open where the driver could obtain the necessary burned out fusi doing the best he could he had one of his- companions stationed on the running board with a flash light after a blushing bawling out was administered by the constable the driver was told to proceed carefully on his way having dismissed the incident from his thoughts he was very much surprised to receive two blue tickets one for faulty lights and the other for poor brakes notwith standing the fact that his brakes were not tested surely under such circumstances the exercising of a little consideration and courtesy by the law would not have been mis placed an improvised orchestra was hurriedly summoned from the ranks last tuesday evening to serenade our newly weds mr and mrs jno white after the clatter had subsided and the bride and groom congratu lated and cheered the captain and i one of his whistle tooters departed later to return with several gallons of ice cream which was consumed with gusto a shower was held on tuesday evening for mr and mrs white owing to the fact that copy must be handed in tuesday we will report further in next issue tho terrific electrical storm of last sunday afternoon played havoc with the grain crops in this section nearly all tho fields were blown flat by tho high
