receives the stouff ville tribune each week so he may read the items of interest from the home locality while the scribe visited tho outskirts of stouffville last weekend no less than three homes where we stopped the tribune was on view there folks having it delivered each week the editor mr nolan talking with the scribe last weekend mentioned the number of papers sent out weekly 1 might say this to me was good news east and west north and south our news each week is appreciated miss hewell who is well known in goodwood is seen daily as sales lady in j f osbornes dry goods store on gerrard street is preparing for well earned summer holidays miss bewell is a regular member of rev george coulters church she intends visiting st catherines where her brother lives we are pleased to read of our stouffville fair sex enjoying their holidays at island grove lake simcoe where the scribes home is located this spot is very popular and well known and is easily reach ed by coach busses also every twenty minutes during the day a ferry service of two boats carry passengers to and from snake island the fare is very reasonable ten cents each way our good friend sandy brown who lives at 227 broadview ave is very busy these days building a six roomed house at willowdale the houses which our friend puts up are like the old reliable kind built years ago built to last a lifetime miss ann davey daughter of our well known friend is now enjoying her holidays at her summer home alderney wood island grove lake simcoe thursdays question in toronto has the tribune come the correspondent was sorry to read of the burning of mr thomes truck he believes it was in this truck he was taken by mr thorne on saturday august stli to altona well goodwood folks we are pleased to say the time has come when our good friends mr and mrs george lee are away on holidays during the past months mrs lee has not been in the best of health however of late she has improved in health the school vacation days are slipping along and the remaining two or three weeks we hope will be the best in the city here each day we see the crowded free ride cars taking the children to the beaches to have their daily swim in watch ing them pass along it gives one pleasure in knowing that this to the children is much appreciated we hope by this time next summer stouffville will ibe able to boast of an uptodate swimming pool and childrens camp toronto friends read this idea with much interest and hope the scheme will go through ok miss ivy knight employed on the bell telephone staff has gone on her holidays miss knights parents live in uxbridge village and no doubt back to the old town she has gone wo hope she will come back much the better for her vacation and rest and folks time rolls on some fifty years ago in the village of goodwood the store now occupied by mr feasby was then operated by a mr chapman for somo time a the w h shaw store young fellow worked in this store there also was the post office this young fellow like others inovnl to tho city and for a number of years worked for the well known firm a former school teacher of good wood had previously secured service with the toronto railway co none other than the late john argue how many remember this teacher at the old frame school years ago our other young man applied for a position on the street railway and would ycu believe it only last thurs day he completed forty years ser vice and after having this years holidays is onco more in action in his position this young fellow of years ago well known to the older residents of
