night to go 10 the blooming- ton christian church where they rendered a splendid program mrs barkis reesor teacher of tho young ladies ss class was also present and took an active part on the pro gram the whole servico was much enjoyed and proved to be a real spiritual uplift the mass service held in honor of the late king george v in the united church on tuesday after noon was largely attended con sider iig the condition of the weather which was anything but inviting the affair was marked as a great solemn occasion in which all the people mourned the loss of their monarch and bore testimony to their lave and devotion in the solemnity of the occasion eight ministers of the gospel occupied the platform and most of them participated in the service at some place on the program the united church choir undertook to preside over the music and render ed one anthem number under direction of mr robert leslie while miss anne lehman was at the pipe organ prof thos mitchell gave the memorial address which concluded with a powerful appeal for loyalty and devotion to the new monarch challenging every citizen to rally round the new king by giving him support their prayers and unstint ed devotion in words which awakened a distinct feeling of love and admiration for the empire dr mitchell extolled the virtues of the late king george in his own inimitable style he was a peace- loving man be ioved his mother who was great before him lie was great in the sanity of his judgment and in his selfcontrol features which contributed to develop these outstanding attributes of his life were the influence the body was dis covered mr lundy was for some years general manager of the arco com pany limited he was a mason and member of the scottish rite society he attended st judes anglican church deceased the late king business was transacted and ritualistic work ex emplified after which an honorary membership certificate was pre sented to sister olive inglis pdd gm a member of laurel chapter toronto
