representative for ontario county requesting a grant of 3000 for plowing competitions 1000 to be used for north ontario plowing match and 1500 for young mens home plowing competitions council decided to givi same grant as last year 2500 from the canadian gjod roads association giving dates of the an nual convention and extending invita tion to councilto send delegates no action taken in accordance with the petition presented to the council on the 15th of august a bylaw was passed authorizing council to purchase and establish a conimunitj athletic field the amount of bylaw was 900 but as it requires 1200 to make the purchase a guarantee was presented to council signed by six responsible parties that the other 300 would be forthcoming when needed by council to make the pur chase a subscription list was also pre sented to council for the above pur pose and one hundred and five dol lars was received in a few minutes by private donations from members of the council and others in
