this order mr stouffer who is receiving a salary of 1900 would immediately be in eligible the board are asking thedepart- ment for a permit to allow mr stouf fer to retain his position having been told that such permit may be secured for one year for the position of a third teacher in the continuation school there were twentyone applicants several of whom were university graduates seeking positions at from 1200 to 1650 the matter of engaging this third teacher was left in obeyance until the board consult mr stouffer and until they see what disposition is made of their request to retain mr stouffer as principal rev mr mcleod presided oyer the meeting the members present being messrs d j aitchison t holdente lloyd f c rowbotham and a e booth of the cemetery commissioners was held on sunday evening when nearly a thousand people assembled and heard the ejoquent discourses and participated in the divine service at 630 oclock the children of the sunday schools assembled down town and j sib ley of the sixth concession whit church township was the scene of a pretty and interesting event on wed nesday evening the 24th june when their eldest daughter lillian winnl- fred was united in marriage with william melville empringham also of whitchurch the bridewho was given away by her father was most becomingly gowned in canton crepe with bridal veil of orange blossonms carried a bouquet
