their outlying comrades we speak of the rec ent taking of some of our inno cent rosy taced georgetownlans by one of those crafty sly avaric ious glen williamsers we are repeating this tale by request of one of our members john walsh who vouches for its authenticity it seems that on the friday pre ceding thanksgiving this wealthy glen wuliamsite an extensive feathered fancier and poultry bree der with wide plastic interests by name of reid lured a pair of branch innocents also in the plas tics business over to his estate where with his glib pitch he sold them every bit of livestock on the place eye witnesses tell us the stock was so weak it had to be carried home he then disap peared pocketing his ill gotten fains rumour has it that he week nded in miami at any rate our two local lads arrive home with their purchases then start to won der what they will do with them the one came up with the brilliant idea that they should kill some of them and have them for thanksgiv lng an excelent idea but the birds wouldn t cooperate by drop ping dead of exhaustion and every time the one owner swung an ax at one particular rooster he swears it thumbed its beak at him as for the other innocent the poul try breeder had given him instruc tions how to take care of the chl ckena including the fastest way to skin the ra running out of patience with the whole idea they finally decld ed to barbecue the whole bunch and charcoal and barbecues were set up however they reckon ed without the fowl who eviden- ully thinking someone might get hurt decided to leave so if you see any ducks wandering around the churchill crescent area or any roosters around college view ring the new firm of howard john son dealers in high grade poultry the moral gilcss it s just that our poor city rubes
