10th about two weeks after enjoying a very fine con cert by the georgetown brass and reed band the residents of hal ton manor had the pleasure of listening to another delightful concert by a georgetown band this time the georgetown boys band the concert was presented in the dining room of the manor mr alfred perrott was the very capable leader at this concert as he had been at the previous one the boys of the band looked ex tremely smart in their band uni forms of navy blue blazers grey trousers and light blue ties vernon mccumber acted as the chairman for the concert in very able and pleasant fashion the program consisted of van ous selections by the band as a whole and a number of solo and duet selections the band played three lovely hymns four stirring marches a polish folk song and the light hearted selection ain t we got fun the band won the admiration of the entire manor audience by their earnest attitude and their splendid rendition of this varied program several soloists won admiration also robert wngglesworth pla ed the hmn nearer my god to thee as a cornet solo peter glynn plaed aura lea on his flute two very appealing duets you tell me your dreams and gay nineties waltz were played by bill and martin wheeler douglas harley sang a vocal solo child s evening song and two encores at closing of this very pleasing program mr mccumber the chair man paid a fine tribute to mr stan allen the superintendent whom he described as a man very highly thought of in georgetown since superintendent allen had not been present at the beginning of the program
