for eight eirs where they raised shorthorn cat tie being proprietor of a feed mill is a new experience for mr black a large storage barn owned bv charles greig r r 1 was com pletely destroyed by fire wcdncs day night approximately two miles southwest of stcwarttown charles harris a resident on the greig property discovered the fire when he looked out the window and saw flames licking up the sides of the bam by the time the local firemen arrived the blaze had gained too much of a foothold to be brought under control the massive building covered a 3 150 foot area and as a result the fire was one of the most spectacu lar since the cleave barn was ra led a few years ago the bam had contained various types of farm machinery including a tractor spraying equipment and cultivator numerous bales of last summers hay were also stored in the bam mr harris a beardmore tan nery employee lives on the farm with his wife and three children but docs none of the actual farm ing mr rgcig keeps the farm pn marily for vegetable gardening the possibility of spontaneous combustion can be overlooked as the hay had undergone no fermen tatlon and since the barn was not electrically serviced the cause has yet to be explained firemen were hindered in their efforts to get to and from the fire by cars blocking all roads leading to the scene a field of carrots was badly tramped by spectators the last holiday before thanks giving will be next monday sep tember 2nd labour day
