wednesday evening may 23rd 1956 do you ever imagine that some hours seem to hold more time than others i notice this little peculiarity at noon hour especially some noon hours coast along beauti fully everybody finishes at the time expected and i finish up my noon day tasks at the usual time that is when the hour seems to act in a perfectly normal way and has its allotted 60 minutes utuncd to my work then there are other noon hours which can best be described as bedlam these are the hours when there dosent seem to be time enough for anjthing somebody ar rives home early and has to eat right away somebody else comes in late after everyone s served every one has some extra chores to be squeezed into the hour the hour did i say more like 15 or 20 minutes at the outside but the clock says no its really one oclock and needless to say the minutes are not atuncd to my work that day or perhaps it would be closer to the truth to put it the other way aiound but these days are what make those i are occasions when the very min utes seem to expand a little to ac commodate my plans all the more i njoyable everything clicks aiong beautifully no rush no fuss i can even enjoy a leisurely extra cup of tea without straining that old nun ute hand unduly and lm still 15 or 20 jiimitis ahe id of my usual sche dull why cant 1 achieve this every day i ask myself but funny part of it is that it fieqiu ntfy happens on the day i don t pi in it so i ve ionic to the conclusion that some hum s just hold moi e time than others maybe oue had the same pf nenee f today was one of my behind the clock days may be i can blame it on the weather its u rt unly enough behind schedule and it was to blame foi a good many tragedies a couple of weeks ago ihat with its cyclones and torrential storms the eieek
