a week ago all candidates qualified and were declared elected by acclamation newesnneillor in ward 1 ia vera mcoomber while new public school trustees are garfield hcguvrayin ward 1 and walter biehn nward 3 mr mc- cumbers nomination was made by joseph gibbons and arthur her bert mr mcgilvraya by arthur herbert and w p thompson and mr biehnb by ffhos l lyons ahd joseph gibbons mrs thomas whilamith was campbeuville native in failing health for some months mrs thomas whilamith passed away at her home on college street on sunday november 23rd at the age of 74 years formerly susan con don mrs whilsmith was born near campbeuville on the farm now ow ned by alfred turner following her marriage 43 years go she lived in toronto moving with her husband to georgetown twentj seven years ago she wds a member of the church of england predeceased by her husband in 1933 she leaves an only daughter elsie one of a family of thirteen children she also is survived by a sister mrs sarah stewart of west toronto and two brothers saul condon of grand vie v alberta and william condon of gilbert plains manitoba archdeacon w g o thompson conducted the funeral service from her home on wednesday with that the great majority of those who go to the polls will sup port inn organization vhich has hel ped to jrive georgetown its reputa tion as a town of music lovers it ia no particular secret that the band is faced at the present time with the most serious financing pro blems in its history for many years through its own efforts and earn ings financial obligations have been met aided by a small grant from the lome scots regiment for which until last yeai it was regimental band a change in status which boosted the lome scots pipe band to ths officialtositjon and relega ted the bras as a band within the i egiment w as the straw which brake the camel s back for the band is now in the position of re- eeiving nb suppoit financial or otherwise from the government and the municipal ct forbids
