county included in the du ties charged to him are the respon sibilities of organizing and carrying out the film project program plans are now under way to hare twenty centres in the county five in each township at which the films will be shown to the adults in the evening meetings and to the public school children in the afternoons once each month special films will be showrrto the children to new homes and factories trill be built in georgetown they wfu be forced to the expense of installing temporary septic tanks and cesspools which will be discarded when a sewer system is installed that money might better be spent on their share of a permanent system many home owners are now paying every year for temporary relief what would be their yearly tax in a perman ent system it is known that the programme of postwar reconstruction wul include particularly new public works it is expected that the federal and provin cial governments win encourage these works in a tangible manner those municipalities which have made ths necessary plans would be the first to receive conelderation many munici palities are not overlooking this tact from the aesthetic v the cleaning up of our coloured full line of hardware an eladrtoal supplies the reld family have been promin ent in georgetown business life for upwards of eighty years when mr reids father the late dugald reld came here from glasgow soottand he was associated with james young and later purchased hds hardware business ln the old wheeler block where the dominion store is now lo cated in 1879 the present threestorey stone featured the georgetown girls pipe band and solo numbers by dolores herrington and piper eleanor smith tap dancers ken harrison pianist and opl piper grace beerman guitar ist accompanist alf sutton also song a solo the wheels are roulng again the program ws under the direction of clarence benham prest dent of the georgetown club and gordon vrrtsn manager of the park was mastercfhoere proceeds of 94173 from a suvsr col lection were donated to the oiub and it is interesting to note that this is the largest collection yet taken at a singsong this year capt and mrs j maxwell of to ronto visited bridge visited mr and mrs garnet kay last week end flying officer david crtchton who has been stationed for some time at the roaf station in summerslde p- ej received us discharge from the service last week it was a big day ror f0 orichton as on the same day he became the father of a sturdy sn for which congratulations are in order in the air force since june 1940 fo orichton went to england the following year and was later transferred to the far east he es caped from singapore to batavla in the jap invasion then by boat to ceylon and served there until his ra the time of the jap successes there was a period of almost a year when letters to his wife and parents did not get through and it was eared that he ww missing fsgt george walker left yester day for dartmouth ns where he
