biggest fair in history of society i the attendance at estiueslfi fair held at georgetown last thursday was tho biggest in the history of the society the lne day and the burse races no doubt help ed to swell the crowd the exhibits of horses cattle sheep pigs etc were rood while that of fowl surpassed any thing seen heretofore in the coun try in fowl alone there were over 500 entries and some of the best birds in tho province were to be seen in the fine new fowl houses erected under the grand stand by the onerrrotic and enterprising poul try breeders of georgetown the display in the body of the hall was good considering the poor root and apple crop this season the gallery of the hall never held a better display of fancy work than that exhibited this year the 20fch batt band played a splendid program during the after noon but a feature of former years that wjbs much missed was the hinging by public softool children the races which held the atten tion of the large crowd under the
