who call themselves ouittlane there waa a day when people carried their bible to church with them kw it contents arid were able lo disctue truths and thart with a fellow believer talk about some portion they had enjoyed al the breakfast table the ramify altar family reading and prayer used to be pari of the days schedule now la many homes it is conspicuous by its absence maybe this accounts for to much of our deunquency because the bible ititl is right when it lays train up a child in the way he should go are we neglecting this in ourdayt i read of a minister in london canada when taking a census of his congregation found these startling results only 40 per cent said a grace al meals and a mere s per cent had any family reading together are we guilty here as well our nation was built and founded on precepts from the word of god the bible and we neglect it to our peril the sunday b more a holiday than a holy day admittedly the church has filled in many ways one of the most serious being her departure from preaching the clear word of the bible topics of the dsy need to be discussed bul not l the worship service where we should go to have our eouls fed with the bread vif life why do to many stay away from their church because they are fed husks instead of bread error instead of truth mans opinions instead of thus tilth the lord if we who profess to be christs followers knew our bibles belter we would not be led astray by false teachers at our doors we could refute error by knowing truth we would practise jude 3 exhort you thai you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints or is this wsrning already true of many in our day i timothy 41 in the latter times some shall depart from the faith giving heed lo seducing spirits and doctrines or devils billy graham made this statement recently church attendance in our country was never higher but the spiritual tone of our people was never lower or as the bible puis ii having a legion on june 27 during the burning of the mortgage ceremonies there george musselle directed the singers practices are suspended until the fall one of the speakers at this years conference of the evangelical fellowship of india was mr paul sudhakar from south india before coming to christ lie was a hindu brahmin and took a very dim view of christians he said he divided christians into three groups i those who could not think 2 those who dared not think and 3 those who would not think it was not the testimony of any missionary or christian national which won him but rather the message of a bible which he bought from another hindu brahmin he said having that book in his hands was like dynamite and having been a student of history he was captured by the genealogy listed in matthew i as it presented the message of christ as having taken place within history rather than simply a myth or legend as he read the next few chapters of matthew he surrendered to the invitation of the holy spirit and three days later was baptized iquartersi large selection of evergreene shsube and trees fnilt trees fruit bushes ready for planting rosea potted ready to plant begonias gladioli dehllaa all
