regional govern ment good buffer he warned halton is oriented towards hamilton toronto gait and some other smaller cities in the area and suggested halton part of peel and part of went- worth counties would be a good buffer strip between the sprawl ing cities the boundaries of any new regional setup should give a reasonable economic potential he added for the future heawa strip of land 10 or 12 miles wide pushing northward from lake ontario with a heavy concentration of ur ban development topped by sever al northern municipalities as sat ellite communities growing and creeping into the farmlands ad jacent to them landjinsuitable for farming lie urged should be used for con servation projects summing up the jjroups first fullyear of operation he review ed that it lot of good lakefronrthunicipalities have gone through annexations iiirid amalgamations which forced them to pool their planning re sources and all have- worked to gether with some form of joint planning thereis no reason why the other municipalises in hal- ion cannot do the same the association recently rcconv mended thatplanning consultants were needed for all municipalities that- do not at present have one
