lound it self suddenly caught in the midst or a 48huur bliuurd in less time than it takes to tell these scouts were up against a bad blow the paliul became a bit pan ickv but the patrol leader hud been watching the trail carefully observing evcrv trail sign and all the surrounding countryside in a mash the patrol leader tight about faced ihapatrol hiked hack a ways and then command ed it to leave the trail the pat rol rulher wondered about icovjj ing the trail in the midst of a blizzard but soon the patrol lcudcr brought it up before an old shack immediately every scout set tu a fire was built a supply of firewood wits collected and u hunters stew was oon simmer ing over the cheery bluze the hlljurd was something in the dim distance the patrol was all set to ride it out in 48 hours the slurm subsided and the scouts slung their packs on their backs to head for home in true scutit fashion they had come up against a tough situation and had cheerily conquered it during these 48 hours there- was another group of three boys caught in the same snuwsturm what a different story when the storm struck these boys were panic stricken completely losing all seircuntrol they did the retrace their steps homeward along the trail it was a hike in which all the odds were against them soon the youngest boy be came exhausted and his two com panlons curried him until they spotted a farm house off in the dlstunce whereupon they laid him down along ihe edge of u gullv so that they could more easily make an exploratory trip to the house tlicy hiked off a mile or so only to tlnd that the house was a clump of trees nothing to do but to return to their exhausted friend but their hacks had disappeared com pletely obliterated by the falling for hours these boys wandered hopelessly trying to find their companion on the second day searching parties were sent out the boys were found the ex hausted- one had died and the other two were dclerious from exposure here then are ihe stories of shall be made each week on and after monday october 2nd 1961 one weekly collection shall be maintained for the period through to match 31st 1962 without exception the collection shall be made on each monday unless a holiday falls on this day in which case the collection shall be made on the next regular working day the dump will be open to the public from monday to saturday of each week for your information certain sections of the garbage bylaw no 903 are quoted herewith- section 4 the workmen shall not be required to empty any container weighing more than fifty pounds and which is not placed on the boundary line between the street and the assessed property as determined by surveyors stakes by the occupant of the property section 5 tho workmen shall collect all refuse set out for them providing it does not exceed more than five containers or bundles for the assessed property andor each family and providing further that each container or bundle does not weigh in excess of fifty pounds and provid ing further that the total refuse so set out does not weigh more than a total of two hundred pounds per assessed premises or family and providing further that ft is in proper containers or securely tied for handling and the bundle does not exceed four feet in length and provide ing further that all empty cartons are broken down and securely tied for handling these two
