Former Bewdley fire chief Len

Holdaway has passed away in his

88th year.

Last year, Mr. Holdaway was

presented with his 60-year service

lapel pin from the Royal Canadian

Legion Branch

577 in Bewdley.

Mr. Holdaway

was one of the

f o u n d i n g

organizers and

members of the

Bewdley Legion.

“He is one

man who will

never be

forgotten in our

branch and in

the village of

B e w d l e y , ”

Bewdley Legion

p r e s i d e n t

William Bristow

said last year.

Mr. Holdaway

and wife, artist

Dora Holdaway, moved to

Wellington, Prince Edward

County, over a decade ago. Mr.

Holdaway is survived by Dora, son

Tom and wife Monika,

grandchildren Lisa and Brad and

their spouses, and greatgrandchildren.

The funeral service was to be

held in Wellington at the

Ainsworth Funeral Home,

Wellington, at 11 a.m. Tuesday,

August 21.

Plans are also being finalized for

a memorial service to be held in

Bewdley, date and time to be

announced this week.

Donations in Mr. Holdaway’s

name may be made to G.I.F.T., the

summer camp for children with

cancer, held in Prince Edward
