Irwin, Mary Louise (née MacLennan) (Died)

Mary Louise Ellen Irwin, 86 of Ingersoll died October 28, 2024 in Woodstock, Ontario. Mary Lou was born on January 13, 1938, to Clifford and Lila MacLennan in McKellar, Ontario. She grew up alongside her brother Ted, her close friend until the very end. She was trained as an x-ray technician, and spent much of her life caring for others, listening to their stories, and making sure everyone she loved had a constant supply of fresh baked goods. From McKellar to Ingersoll, Parry Sound to Woodstock, Curries, Sudbury, and other places in between, Mary Lou was a beloved part of her communities. She was a treasured daughter, sister, and niece. She was an adored mother, grandmother, and great-grandma and a dear friend of so many. She was a Sunday school teacher, a lunch lady, a crossing guard, and the church grandma. She was a steadfast woman of God, who was at peace knowing she would spend eternity with her Creator Mary Lou will forever be loved by her children Scott, Shelley and Stuart, and Shawn and Christa, and her grandchildren, Thomas, Bethany and Nathan, Hannah and Matthew, Amy and Stephen, Jacob, Cooper and Jenna, and Abigail. Memories of 'Great-gram' and 'Grandma Lou' will be cherished by her great grandchildren who she loved so dearly, including Sierra, Payton, Hunter, Isaiah, Oakley, Blakely, Adelyn, and baby Beckham. In her passing, Mary Lou will be reunited with her parents, Clifford and Lila, her sister-in-love, Edna, her precious grandson, Todd, and many friends and family. A Celebration of Life took place at McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home 246 Thames St. S Ingersoll on Saturday November 2. Donations in Mary Lou's memory can be made to Sakura House, where Mary Lou and her family received such care, kindness, and compassion in her final days and Operation Sharing to continue her legacy of caring for the community.
