The Bible To-day In LeRaincy, France, a small city on the northeast outskirts of Paris, a Bible exhibition under the title "Bible and Civilization" was set up under the patronage of the local historical Society. LeRaincy is in the diocese of Meaux where Bishop Briconnet, one of the main promoters of the Biblical move- ment which led to the Reforma- tion, was active. The Alliance Biblique Francaise set up its exhibition there and a group of Roman Catholics also pre- pared a_ series of panels on the message of the Bible. Archeologi- cal material was set up by the Na- tional Museum, Le Louvre. The Synagogue and the Freemasons were represented by exhibits; both of whom worked on the theme of the building of the Temple. A local connoisseur lent a selec- tion from her collection of Biblical etchings of the 17th - 19th cen- turies, The Exhibition was visited by thousands of people including a large number of school children. The Alliance. Biblique Francaise got a mention of this exhibition. in the French Reader's Digest, which said, "The Bible also has a place in your home in order -to contri- bute te your happiness ------- .
