Start Work on Home for Blind The new CNIB center at Sud- bury will be finished by next year, and construction will start with- in the next few days. The center, which will cost some $500,000 is specially designed to house 42 blind persons, and will play a key part in rehabilitation and retrain- ing of newly blinded. Also welcomed to their meeting were members from the Northern Beacon Lodge of Englehart, and the Nippissing Lodge of North Bay. The visiting committee reported two members ill. Sister Brown thanked the Lodge and- members for the cards and fiowers: recéiv- ed by Mr. Brown ae his ill ness. A report was given concerning the chartering of a bus for the School of Instruction which will be held in Englehart: sometime in May. Room count was tallied by Sec- retary Mrs. V. Foliick, with a to- tal of 28 points awarding the Ban- ner to Miss L. Anyon's class. The attendance draw which has been carried ever for several months was won by Mrs. F. Tryon. President Mrs. Koza passed on several reminders, one for par- ents of Kindergarten age children re-registration, and another con- cerning the annual Tea, which will be held on Friday, May 19, in the Community Hall. Room mothers will be phoning for baking for the tea tables and produce. Mrs. Wallman, tea convener, asked if the pupils candy sale which has usuaily been held on the same afternoon couldn't be held either the Friday before or following the tea, making it eas- ier for the mothers.
