NEWS FROM THE EVELYN SHOPPE Luxite is another word ior 'luxury and when it's Luxite by Kayser it simply means "the Best." This week we're con- centrating on Lingerie at least trying to, but with all the lovely new sets on display, it's: almost impossible to "be off with the old love before you are on with the new." The "French Laurel" gown in Luxite shows bands of matching embroidery and tucks and comes in the delectable new shade call- ed "Kiss Me" pink .and is com- pletely charming. N'est ce pas? Another, in Crystalaire, uses lace for accent and shirred chifi- on points up the magic of pleat- ing at the midriff. The wee tri- cot shoulder caps are lace edged, This comes in "Red Flirtation." These gowns have matching panties and pettislips and other colors available include Star- dust blue, Honeymoon beige and white. A slip with an appliqued spray of satin roses, blue on white or pink on pink, catches the eye of the shopper who wants something out of the ordinary. Fine nylon lace adorns the neckline. A sheath pettislip, aptly nam- ed "My Love," has a seductive side long panel of shaped lace which joins the same lace at the hemline. Twin cutout lace buds are another craftsman like touch == and the price is only $6.95. There are many others to chose from. One that would be perfect for wear under a suit skirt is of Arnel satin with permanent pleating in a five inch band at the hem. The "Serenade" gown of nylon chiffon, as lovely as the mist that rises at dawn, has a double sheer bodice the bustline appli- qued with beautiful lace .which continues around the midriff. A filmy panel of nylon sheer falls from waist to hemline over the nylon tricot, adding intriguing interest to the front of the gown. The matching negligee, featuring a double yoke, com- pletes a beguiling ensemble. Then there are bedjackets of soft quilted satin with bands ot pastel embroidery on collar, cuffs and front. .These come in deep pink and pale blue and you may also choose from silk or nylon. Perhaps you are thinking of housecoats, for yourself or for a gift. You'll find them at the Evelyn Shoppe in quilted nylon flowered nylon or Viyella flan- nel all completely washable. Ask to see them, their beauty begg- ars description. If you prefer lounging pyjamas, you'll find these, too, also washable, in a Chinese design, red with a black coat, or in coral. To go with these lovely lei- sure-time garments, ask to see the new flatties, mules sand Chinese slippers that have just arrived. And did you know that beauti- ful white slips are available, for as little as $2.95? (Christmas is rapidly approa- ching! Don't forget that Gift Certificates, for any amount, are now available.) THE SHOPPE, Phyllis Marshall, well-known to television audiences for her singing of blues and other sul- try numbers, appears regularly on the weekly 'Cross-Canada Hit Parade on the CBC-TV net- work every Saturday.
