The operetva was directed by Miss Keller and Miss Suzanne Lecky did a splendid evening's job of accompanist at the piano. Magistrate Will Limit Court Work in Haileybury Magistrate Siegfried Atkinson has retired from full-time duties after thirty-seven years on the bench. The magistrate will still act on the Timmins police com- mission and continue to act as juvenile court judge. The weekly trip to the Porcu- pine area will cease, and Magis- trate Stanley Gardiner wi!! hand- le the work from Timmins, South Porcupine, Matheson and Anson- ville. Mr. Boyer has beena resident of Haileybury tor some years and owned and operated the Lake Shore Hotel. Born in Gracefield, Ouebec, he later made his home in Sudbury, where he was a traveller While there: he married the former El- vina Cayen in 1935. The funeral service was held on Thursday morning, at 8 a.m., to Holy Cross Church, and inter- ment was in the R.C. Cemetery, Mr. Boyer is survived by his wife, three children, Hubert: Ray- mond and Andre at home and three sisters, Mrs. Simard of Val dOr, Mrs. Lafontaine, Ottawa, and Mrs. A. Dupuis of New Lis- keard. NELLIE PATRIQUIN The funeral of the late Mrs. Nellie Patriquin, who passed away Thursday afternoon, May Ist in the Kirkland District Hos- pital, was held on Saturday after- noon at 2.30 in Trinity United Church, Kirkland Lake, On Friday e vening, the mem- bers of Golden Gate Rebekah Lodge gathered at Symington's funeral parlors where the remains were resting, and held a Rebekah service for their departed Sister. They also attended the funeral service in a body, Mrs. Patriquin is survived by her two sons, Roy of South Por- cupine and Robert of Haileybury, her husband having predeceased her in 1951. The large number who attend- ed the funeral service and the flo- ral tributes attested tothe esteem in which the deceased was held. Rey. T. V. Hart officiated ond interment. was in the family plot in the Kirkland Cemetery. Sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones. MRS. MARY LaROSE The death of Mrs. MarysLaRose occurred on Tuesday, May 6th, at Misericordia Hospital. In her 93rd year, she was one of the old- est residents of Haileybury and made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Moore. She had been ill in the hospital for one month.
