Mr. Kennedy heard the returns quktly at his home in the early part of the ev- ening, then went to the Liberal- Conservative committee rooms, where he received a great recep- tion. Cheering crowds, the din of cowbells and automobile horns and the congratulations of the townsfolk indicated the popular sentiment in favor of his return to the Legislature, and it was some time before Mr. Kennedy could break away to go on to the other towns, there to thank the electors for the confidence they had displayed in him.
