GIBBONS MEN's WEAR AGENTS FOR Busy Corner THE HAILEYBURIAN Vote For KENNEDY and the "Ferguson Government' To the Electors of Temiskaming: October 21st, 1929 This district is so large that it is not pos- sible, much to my regret, to call and see you personally, and so I take this way of asking you for your vote on October 30th. If I am elected as your representative I willingly pledge myself that I will be at the _command at all times of every person and municipality in this district in everything that will be in the best interests of the district gen- erally. ook My foremost objective will be to secure from the Government a greatly increased a- mount of road money, which will enable us to do more work than ever on trunk and township roads and drains. Our trunk roads will be maintained and improved and our township or side roads will receive more than usual attention. One of my ambitions which I hope to see fulfilled is the construction of a concrete or asphalt road right through Tem- iskaming from the south to the north. I intend to do.everything in my power, irrespective of party politics, to advance the true interests of temperance in the Province and District and will not allow this moral and social question to be made a political football. The education and welfare of the child- ren of this district will always be prominent in my activities and whenever an opportunity offers itself I will avail myself of it to be of assistance to those interested in schools and other affairs where children are concerned. I am of the opinion that the mining laws of Ontario are without equal in the world, but where changes can be made that will be of ben- efit to prospectors, miners and others engaged in this industry then I will not remain satis- fied until such changes are made. While I would strongly oppose allow- ing any non-resident to strip the timber from an agricultural lot, yet I will do all in my power to make it possible for an actual settler who is doing his improvements, to secure the full advantage of all pulp wood and timber that may be on his farm without dues or re- strictions. There are many other matters that are worthy of a place in this letter but my space is limited. To sum it all up I undertake to do all within my power to the advantage and development of this district, and to devote myself towards increasing the prosperity and well-being of all who live in it. Yours very truly, A. J. KENNEDY N. O. H. A. Annual Meeting Irie on the west to Kapuskasing on Saturday, November 9th ©n the north.
