Ri Public Utility Stocks | Purisof Miss A: Rice | are Proving Popular Canada Northern Power Corpor- ation, Limited, Issues in Good Demand In the financial columns of daily _newspapers, attention has been directed repeatedly of late to the remarkable change in the attitude of the investing public toward the securities of Public Utility Corporations. This change is a national one and economic writ- ers everywhere are discussing its causes and exact significance. For the past féw months the New York stock market has wit- nessed an ever increasing demand for the securities of Public Utili- ty Companies, and it has been a matter of comment that during the recent depression on the stock market these securities were af- fected the least, and made a quicker return to their normal prices than any other class of security. There has recently been very marked activitiy in the Utility stocks listed on the Montreal Stock Exchange. » Securities of such Companies as Shawinigan Water and Power Company, the Montreal Light, Heat & Power Company, and Canada Northern Power Corporation, Limited have been strongly bought, and _ the buying in many cases has been directly traceable to Insurance Companies and Investment Trusts. In view of the large number of local stock-holders of Canada Northern Power Corporation, Limited, it is interesting to note that the preferred stock of this Company is selling at around $107 a share and the Common Stock is currently quoted at $28 a share. Note the coasting ability of the Ford car as compared to any other automobile in its weight class. Examination of the chassis will at once show the advantages of these bearings. On the rear axle pinion and differential alli the Choies Features 55 to 65 miles an hour taper roller bearings are he!d to such close limits that adjustment is unnecessary, pinion and ring gear always being heJdin proper mesh. Spiral roller bearings are used in the rear hub because of their large bearing surface and ability to carry heavy loads. One is also used on the drive shaft at the universal joint end, to assure perfect alignment. Taper roller bearings in the front wheels have a simple adjust- ment. Roller thrust bearings on the spindle bolts make for easy steering. ZTwo bearings, one above and one below, take up the thrust on the steering worm. Of sclowe The fan shaft operates ona roller bearing. The generator, the transmission, the connection between the spline and drive shafts, the clutch, the flywheel--all these important parts are made more efficient and enduring through the use of ball and roller bearings. These bearings form a striking illustration of the engineering , Central Motor Sales skill and care used in building the Ford car.
